I am currently a Communications Manager with over six years of experience in advertising and marketing. I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a major in advertising and a minor in journalism.
My daily responsibilities at work include creating, editing, and distributing internal communications and branding to a workforce of around 1,300 associates. These communications and branding elements include both HTML-coded announcements focused on written content and graphical e-blasts intended to catch the eye and pique interest.
I started my career as an Account Executive at an advertising agency in Arlington, but I quickly found a passion for copywriting. From there, I moved over to the fast-paced world of social media, while still copywriting for select clients.
I am a member of the Fort Worth chapter of the American Advertising Federation and I formerly served on the leadership board of the Social Media Club of Fort Worth as the Interactive Director.
In my spare time, I like to stay up-to-date on the world of marketing communications by reading books and subscribing to informational publications and blogs. I like to share the best nuggets of information to readers of my A Young Man's Perspective blog.
A few programs and sites I use regularly: Microsoft Office, WordPress (.org/.com), Photoshop/CS5, Constant Contact, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media applications.
